Living With Fire Series – Resources

The Tuolumne Fire Safe Council and the League of Women Voters of the Mother Lode partnered to sponsor an educational event series focused on the growing wildfire threat to our homes, businesses, infrastructure, and natural resources.
The goal was to deepen understanding of the many factors that drive wildfire behavior and explore how we can adapt to living with fire through informed action and community participation.
Thanks to the generous support of Columbia College Foundation and Black Oak Casino Resort, the Living With Fire Series became a reality.
Tuolumne County is a high-risk fire hazard zone, and fire isn’t going away. We must learn to live with fire in ways that reduce the potential for catastrophic loss. Everyone has a role to play, and this series offers a path forward toward becoming a truly Fire Adapted Community.
On the three tabs above, you’ll find videos, speaker presentations, and film links from each session. A special thank you to the many volunteers and attendees who made this series a success.
Session 1 – March 7th: How the fires of the past shaped today’s fuel conditions and fuel management strategies.
Session 2 – March 14th: Reducing risk and building resilience in our foothill communities.
Session 3 – March 21st: What individuals and local organizations can do to reduce risk to life and property.
We are all in this together — and it will take all of us to succeed in Living With Fire safely.
